Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to the St. Christopher's website and the virtual presentation of the exciting, fulfilling real world we create for students and their families.

St. Christopher's has been making a difference in the lives of students for over 125 years. As Executive Director, I have dedicated our organization to educating our students in academic studies, social responsibility, character development and accountability, and to providing the residential and clinical services each student needs to excel. The students we teach and nurture today will soon be leaders and our partners in society. We must help them use their school experiences to build better lives for themselves, and give them the academic and social skills to succeed in an exciting but complex world. By teaching students mutual respect and helping them build self-esteem, we spark the curiosity and thirst for knowledge that inevitably leads to discovery and personal growth.

Even after a long career in education, I'm inspired every day to see how the members of our administration and our residential, clinical and educational staffs work together to help each student realize his or her potential. All strive diligently and tirelessly to sustain a positive residential and school environment that also recognizes the importance of family in our students' lives.

A visit to our campus will show you how our services empower and motivate our students and unite their families. The Dr. Kenneth B. Clark Academy in Dobbs Ferry, an exceptional new facility, is the keystone of our future and offers special and regular education courses as well as the opportunity for students to earn a New York State Regents diploma. Our association with the Greenburgh-North Castle Union Free School District and of our mutual mission to provide quality residential and educational services has been recognized at state and national levels as a model of excellence. In seeking to provide a complete, balanced and fulfilling experience to our students, we will continue to expand and develop our wide range co-curricular programs including sports, music and drama.

In just a few short years, St. Christopher's has accomplished one of the most amazing and successful transformations in residential care and education. By maintaining our focus on enabling students to grow intellectually and emotionally, we will give each one the opportunity to achieve his or her goals. There is an adage that I believe sums up St. Christopher's true spirit: "To achieve the possible, we must attempt the impossible. To be all we can be, we must dream of being more."

We appreciate the support and loyalty of our friends and benefactors and look forward to building new relationships for St. Christopher's that benefit our students, staff and the community. Enjoy exploring our website and examining our history, goals and services. See for yourself what makes St. Christopher's a unique and vital part of children's lives. See why after more than 125 years of service, we are more dedicated and enthusiastic about our work than ever before.

Thank you.
